Welcome to 2025!

Things are hotting up in the AI coding agent space with Replit fighting for attention with the likes of Cursor, v0, Loveable and Bolt.

Expect this year to be the one where a whole load of new people enter the software building space and the cost and complexity of creating stuff drops close to zero.

What’s new with Replit

Despite it being the end of the year, the Replit team kept busy.

The focus at the moment seems to be on rolling out new integrations (which they also call connections).

In just the last few days they dropped integrations for xAI and Perplexity (with OpenAI already in the mix), making it even easier to launch AI-focussed products.

Also on the radar = workflows.

Aside from that, Replit is continuing to drop regular QoL updates - you can find them in the Replit changelog which is now regularly updated.

Oh… and it might get easier to manage your PostgreSQL databases in the UI (please!)

Useful & interesting

Matt Palmer posted a nice tutorial for building a document converter app using Microsoft’s new MarkItDown package.

Meanwhile, community member Doc Williams published this walkthrough of building a sleep habit tracker with Replit Agent.

Finally, there’s this interesting article discussing the merits of different pricing models for AI coding agents.

Built with Replit

The Replit X account (and quite often founder Amjad) has started putting the spotlight on things being built - great for a visibility boost!

Here are some recent projects found in the wild.
