Ok, Replit made the news quite a bit last week, when this happened.
There are a couple of things to keep in mind.
- Yes, Agent deleted the database when it shouldn’t have = very bad.
- It also told Jason that there was no way to restore the database, when in fact, Replit has had one-click rollback for code and database states for months now. Agent just wasn’t aware of this.
I credit Replit with a great response to this debacle.
TLDR;
- Replit has launched separate development and production databases for projects. And Agent does not have access to the production database.
- Agent has better access to internal docs and will force itself to read them.
- Code freeze/chat only mode is in the works.
